Rounds 9 & 10 of the Pacific F2000 Series at Infineon saw David sweep both races! Returning to one of his favorite tracks, David made a huge jump-up in the point standings by winning both races from the pole position. Along with setting the fastest lap in Saturday’s race, David went from 5th to 2nd in points!

” Traveling half-way across the globe after achieving a hard-fought 2nd place in the Merdeka Millenium Enduro in Malaysia, I arrived at the track on Friday morning, nursing a bit of a case of jet-lag. But Infineon is one of my favs, and I was determined to make this weekend a productive one, and get myself back into the battle for the championship.”

“Friday’s test went well, and I felt ready for qualifying on Saturday morning, setting pole by .9 of a second. Our strategy for the race was to get to turn 2 in front of the field, and then control the race from the front. All went as planned, and I came away with the victory, while setting fastest-lap.”

“Sunday’s qualifying session didn’t go quite as well as on Saturday; on the 5th lap of quali, I lost 4th gear, and it was a nail-biter as we sat in the pits, watching other competitors try and out-do my time. Fortunately, we got it…but not by much! Race 2 strategy was the same as Saturday’s, and I brought the Our World Live/CJ Wilson’s Children’s Charities/PR1 Motorsport’s car to another victory. Much thanx goes out to my crew for swapping out the gearbox between quali and the race, once again proving that PR1 is THE BEST!” – David Cheng
