CTSCC Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca Wrap-up

The CTSCC round at Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca was fun in spite of some mechanical issues and the crazy caution-filled race. We struggled with getting sufficient practice time during the first 2 days of the event. The crew threw every trick they knew to get the car right, and did so just prior to Saturday’s race. But, the lack of power and practice hurt us during qualifying, where teammate Aleks qualified the #171 P20.

With the car right for start of the race, Aleks ripped through the field, getting as high as P2 before we pitted for fuel, tires, and driver change…now good to go ’till the end. After the stop, I was in P20; moved up to as high as 12th, waiting for others who still needed to pit, which would allow us to move up in the standings. Unfortunately, due to a record number of caution-flag laps, many teams were able to stretch their fuel to the end without stopping, and we finished P18.

Thanx to the team for their efforts, and thanx to all our friends who showed up to support us at our ‘home’ event.
